Expressions of Interest
JamFactory is developing a shared ceramics studio within its satellite facility at the multi-award winning Seppeltsfield Winery Estate in the Barossa Valley and is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from professional ceramic artists/makers interested in
co-designing and establishing the studio.
JamFactory’s facility at Seppeltsfield was established in 2013 and includes a public gallery, a retail shop and studios that provide space for artisans to make work and directly engage with the visiting public. The facility is currently visited by over 65,000 visitors annually.
In the first half of 2026, JamFactory plans to reconfigure and fit out a 115 square meter space specifically for ceramic artists/makers.
Through the EOI process JamFactory is hoping to identify three-to-four like-minded and committed ceramic artists/makers who will work with JamFactory and our architects to create a purpose-built studio to support their independent practices. Studio space will be provided through a subsidised, renewable 12-month lease arrangement.
It is anticipated that the space will be configured to create personal spaces for production and separate shared zones around kilns, sinks, etc. The space could also accommodate a small area for delivering small classes and retail display to enable supplementary income.
The studio will be available for use by tenants 24/7. The JamFactory facility is open to the public from 11am to 5pm daily. Public access and hours of attendance in the studio will be negotiated as part of the lease arrangements.
JamFactory will consider possible support or incentives to assist practitioners interested in relocating to the region to take up the opportunity.
EOIs should include a proposal of no more than one page outlining what you would plan to do in the studio, a current CV and 6 – 10 images of the work that are indicative of what you plan to produce in the studio.
