
JAMFACTORY SCHOLARSHIPS
JamFactory offers four unique global scholarship opportunities for Associates and recent Alumni of JamFactory’s Associate Program.
Supported by the Medici Collective and JamFactory’s residency partners, these scholarships provide invaluable professional development opportunities for emerging practitioners working across Glass, Ceramics, Furniture and Jewellery/Metal Design.
The scholarships include opportunities at renowned organisations across the world including Domaine de Boisbuchet in Lessac, France; Pilchuck Glass School in Washington, USA; The Studio at Corning Museum of Glass in New York, USA; and Bundanon in Illaroo, NSW.
Building relationships with these like-minded organisations nationally and globally allows JamFactory to extend its creative community and expand the sharing of contemporary craft and design skills and knowledge.
Scholarships are awarded annually through an application process.

Opportunity for Second Year Ceramics and Jewellery/Metal Studio Associates and Alumni (5 years out of program) to undertake a 2 week residency at Bundanon.
About Bundanon
Bundanon is a centre for creative arts and education, supporting the development of arts practice across all disciplines, enabling public access to the arts and to the landscape and promoting creativity and learning based in a unique cultural and natural landscape.
The Artists in Residence program is a pillar of Bundanon, this competitive residency program is made possible by the generous contribution of Arthur and Yvonne Boyd to the Australian public. Established in 1997, it has grown to become the largest program of its kind in Australia, hosting over 250 artists annually. The program facilitates creative exploration and offers participants an expansive environment to develop their artistic practice and engage with fellow creative minds.

About The Studio at Corning Museum of Glass
The Studio is an internationally renowned centre for glassmaking and education within the Corning Museum of Glass, a not-for-profit museum located in Corning, New York
Offering state-of-the-art facilities students and artists can study a wide variety of glassmaking techniques and approaches. The Studio work spaces are equipped for furnace working, flameworking, kiln working, cold working, and more. The Studio artists and students have access to the world’s largest museum collection dedicated to glass and the Rakow Research Library. The Studio is a community where individuals passionate about glassmaking can come together and exchange ideas.

Founded in 1986, Domaine de Boisbuchet is Europe’s prime destination for innovative, hands-on workshops in architecture, design and art. With a focus on the integration of nature and the hand-made, Boisbuchet draws an international contingent of professionals and students seeking new ways of thinking, designing and making. The campus is surrounded by 150 hectares of protected nature in southwest France and comprises an architectural park of historic and contemporary buildings.

About Pilchuck Glass School
Pilchuck Glass School is an international centre for glass art education located on a working tree farm in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains in Washington.
From May through September every year, Pilchuck's progam offers a series of courses as well as residencies for established artists in all media. Summer sessions vary in length and offer concurrent courses in a variety of glass working processes for artists of all skill levels. Small classes taught by world-renowned artists and instructors emphasise experimentation and teamwork while fostering individual initiative and expression. Combining a deep focus on glass, access to a variety of resources, a picturesque Pacific Northwest setting and an ever-expanding international community of artists, Pilchuck has become the most comprehensive educational center in the world for glass artists.
HELPMANN ACADEMY SCHOLARSHIP
The Helpmann Academy provides scholarships for eligible applicants applying for JamFactory’s first year Associate Program in Ceramics, Glass, Furniture or Jewellery/Metal.
Helpmann Academy
Scholarship
Opportunity for 2 eligible applicants applying for JamFactory’s first year Associate Program in Ceramics, Glass, Furniture or Jewellery/Metal to receive $2,500 each. Applicants must be a graduate of a Helpmann Partner University (Flinders University, University of Adelaide, University of South Australia).

The Helpmann Academy provide professional development opportunities including grants, mentorships, residencies, workshops and more, tailored specifically for South Australia’s higher education students, graduates and emerging artists.
The Helpmann Academy are passionate about supporting emerging artists with professional development opportunities that allow the time and space to delve deeper into your practice while being exposed to a community of creative practitioners.
The Helpmann Academy aim to develop connections and pathways for successful and sustainable careers and walk alongside emerging creatives as they make the transition from study to professional practice.
RESIDENCIES
Through partnerships with national organisations and our own initiatives, JamFactory presents residency opportunities across our Glass and Furniture Studios.
Artisan Residency Program
Queensland based craft and design organisation artisan, provides a fully-funded residency opportunity for an outstanding Queensland craft and design practitioner.
With support from Arts Queensland, artisan presents a transformative career opportunity for a Queensland practitioner. This innovative program provides a residency and exhibition for a Queensland craftsperson/designer annually, providing them the resources to create new works, hone additional skills and connect with fresh audiences.
The artisan residency provides the opportunity for a Queensland-based established furniture designer to undertake a fully funded residency at JamFactory.
Spanning 4-6 weeks, the residency includes interstate travel, accommodation, living costs, studio, materials, and a curated exhibition at artisan.
Australian Furniture Design Award
Presented by NGV and Stylecraft the Australian Furniture Design Award celebrates the most interesting furniture and lighting design being created in Australia today, with a particular emphasis on new design ideas, critical and creative thinking, sustainability, material development and research that explores innovative production processes.
The winner of the award undertakes a two-week professional development residency at JamFactory including travel costs and accommodation. The winner will have the opportunity to work within and have access to the facilities of the JamFactory Furniture Studio. The winner will also be provided with a $1,000 budget for materials and/or paid technical assistants. Award winners are encouraged to use the time to experiment with new ideas and processes during the residency.
FUSE Glass Prize - The David Henshall Emerging Artist Prize
Presented by JamFactory, the FUSE Glass Prize is a non-acquisitive biennial prize for Australian and New Zealand glass artists.
As part of the FUSE Glass Prize, the David Henshall Emerging Artist Prize, valued at $10,000, provides the opportunity for an emerging artist (an artist who has completed tertiary study or formal training within the last five years) to be awarded AU$5,000 cash and a residency at JamFactory including travel and accomodation valued at AU$5,000.
FUSE Glass Artist Residency
Awarded biennially in alternate years to the FUSE Glass Prize, the FUSE Glass Artist Residency aims to create significant opportunities for established, mid-career artists working in glass. Valued at more than $20,000 the residency provides studio access in JamFactory’s Glass Studio and a solo exhibition at Historic House Museum and Garden, Carrick Hill.
FELLOWSHIPS
JamFactory’s current fellowship opportunity supported by Jim and Helen Carreker and in partnership with The Studio at Corning Museum of Glass, provides a two week residency in the Glass Studio for a USA-based, mid-career Glass Artist.
The Carreker Glass Fellowship
The Carreker Glass Fellowship provides a significant annual opportunity for a USA-based, mid-career glass artist to undertake an intensive two-week hot glass residency at JamFactory.
The recipient of the Fellowship will be selected by representatives of The Studio of the Corning Museum of Glass in the United States and JamFactory’s Glass Studio in Australia.
Valued at more than $AU15,000 the residency includes return flights, accommodation, up to ten glassblowing sessions with qualified assistants and an allowance for freight to return works to the United States.
The Fellowship has been made possible by the generosity of Jim and Helen Carreker, dual citizens of the United States and Australia, and passionate supporters of glass art in both countries for over 30 years.
