JamFactory’s Glass Studio Design Manager, Liam Fleming recently visited Corning Museum of Glass as a teaching assistant to renowned South Australian glass artist, Clare Belfrage.
Liam spent a week and a half at the prestigious museum alongside Clare, who presented a class focussed on pattern and how it relates to the glass blown form. As the week progressed, the students were taught to apply cane work to more complicated and asymmetric forms.
“I’d never been to the museum so it was a great excuse to get over there and check out the Rakow Library, Museum and studios,” said Liam.
“I spent a few days blowing glass in Boston and a week in NYC checking out all the galleries and museums. [Glass Artist] Tim Edwards tagged along too. Mainly to visit the museum and library, but also to play in the snow.”
