Tom Mirams
Tom grew up on the south east coast of NSW. On finishing school he travelled to Tasmania to complete a Degree in fine Art-Furniture Design.
Tom went on to specialise in furniture and trained as an Associate Designer in the JamFactory Furniture Studio under Peter Walker (97-98).
Tom was a founding member of George Street Studios and over the last seven years he has established and successfully ran his own business Tom Mirams Design.
In this time Tom has concentrated on designing and making one off and limited run commissioned furniture for both domestic and corporate markets.
Tom’s exhibition and commission work has a strong sense of refined fluid form. He delights in using a broad range of materials and processes. In his work he tries to purvey a sense of fluidity, which is immediately appealing to the eye and has empathy with the human form.
