Retail Manager | Full Time Position
JamFactory is seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to manage and grow its growing retail operations – two shops in the Adelaide CBD, a new on-line shop and sales from temporary exhibitions.
JamFactory’s flagship store at Morphett Street was redesigned in 2010 by celebrated designer Khai Liew and is an extraordinary backdrop for quality retailing while the Rundle Mall Plaza store offers a prime location ripe for redefinition and development.
JamFactory is a not-for-profit organisation promoting good design and fine craftsmanship. It delivers outstanding exhibitions, public programs and professional training through its unique combination of studios, galleries and shops.

JamFactory Welcomes Karen Cunningham in the role of Creative Director of Glass Studio

JamFactory is pleased to announce the appointment of Karen Cunningham in the role of Creative Director of the Glass Studio.
Karen is a graduate of the University of South Australia Visual Arts Program (Glass) as well as the two year JamFactory Associate Program.
Karen is a highly skilled glass-blower and has worked and trained in the U.S.A, Turkey and Germany. She is the recipient of numerous awards including the JamFactory Pilchuck Scholarship, taking her to Seattle for a workshop at the renowned Pilchuck Glass School, as well as the SOYA Young Designer of the Year Award which led to an internship with Marc Newson in Paris.
Karen has maintained her own glass practice working from Blue Pony Studios as well as establishing illumini Design with fellow glass artist Mandi King in 2010.
Karen has a long relationship with JamFactory and the Glass Studio, working as an Associate, hirer and participating in many workshops and special projects. Karen has worked as a lecturer at the University of South Australia as well as Artist in Residence and Mentor for final year students in the Glass Department.
Karen will commence in the position in mid January.
JamFactory Welcomes Lex Stobie to the role of Program Manager of the Furniture Design Studio

JamFactory is pleased to announce the appointment of Lex Stobie in the role of Program Manager of the Furniture Design Studio. Lex will join Creative Director Tom Mirams in the Studio.
Lex is an experienced furniture designer and maker with formal training from both New Zealand and Australia as well as extensive vocational experience at PD Joinery and Great Dane Furniture in Melbourne.
Lex runs his own business Lex Stobie Design from his Adelaide workshop developing and producing high quality furniture items for public and private consumption. Lex blends traditional artistry with contemporary interpretation to form the catalyst for his work. His furniture is beautifully handmade with refined craftsmanship and attention to detail. Lex has participated in several Bowerbird Bazaar markets and his work is stocked nationally including Great Dane Furniture and Tongue and Groove.
Lex maintains a strong commitment to the industry, participating in exhibitions, mentoring students at UNI SA, attending forums regarding the role of design in the industry and volunteering his services with the SA Branch of the Design Institute of Australia.
Flourish at Fisher Jefferies

JamFactory is proud to present an exhibition of works by participants in the Ceramics Studio's Indigenous Mentorship and Indigenous Artists in Residence Programs at Fisher Jeffries Barristers and Solicitors on Gouger Street. Flourish showcases the works of artists Daisybell Nungala Virgin, Christina Gollan, Renita Stanley, Carlene Thompson, Tjimpuna Williams and Inawinytji Stanley.
Flourish is on display until 10 February 2012 at Fisher Jeffries Barristers and Solicitors, Level 1, 19 Gouger Street, Adelaide.
